Swimming Pool

SIS Pools Opening to the Public - January 2016
Fantastic news:  Our two pools will be open to the public - $2 entry from 1-5pm, three days per week in January 2016.

Our country is surrounded by water. Our summers are conducive to recreation at pools, rivers lakes and the sea.  Sadly, many New Zealanders are unable to swim. Because of this the SIS Board of Trustees has committed to repairing our two swimming pools which were significantly damaged in the 2010-2011 earthquakes.  Our classes  have pool access from late October to late March - about fourteen school weeks.   At present they have three or four sessions per week.

St Albans Swim Club
This club operates from 3.30-5pm  weekdays during the school term.  St Albans Swim Club families are able to hire a pool key for a reduced rate  to that paid by SIS families (see below).

Key Hire for local families - Families of pupils enrolled at Shirley Intermediate School may hire a pool key for the months that the pools open (Usually late October to late March).  The same rate applies to families of children at Banks Avenue School and Shirley Primary School. Proof of eligibility will be required.
  •      Key cost 2015-2016:  $60 ($10 refunded on return of key)
  •      Key cost for St Albans Swim Club families: $45 ($10 bond)
